About Us

Metal Securities Products Limited (“MSP”) was incorporated as a full-fledged indigenous Company with its main object comprising the manufacturing locks, bolts, nuts and tools, machine parts, motor vehicle spare parts, fittings & furniture from Iron, Chromium, Nickel and Zinc.

The company began operations in 1980 and grew to be an industry leader. The factory is situated on a 15,332 square meters of land while the administrative buildings occupy a total area of 3,950 square meters.

The Mission of the company is to provide complete, high quality products in a safe adaptive environment to the public and private sector of Nigerian economy, making lasting contribution to community resources development.

Engineering solutions for all industries

Following the huge demands for Steel and steel related products, MSP now intends to transform into a much bigger entity with capacity to produce 25,000 metric tons of steel products per year.

The company projects to upgrade MSP Kano steel factory by deploying pipe cold rolling/ forming, CNC fabrication, welding, and Galvanizing machineries with the aim to manufacture steel telecom towers, monopoles, Transmission line towers, distribution towers, tower reinforcement members, Oil rig platforms, light & medium structural and some of the heavy structural facilities. The products will find end-use in the companies operating in industries such as Telecom, Power, Oil & Gas and other infrastructures.

CHAIRMAN

Mr. Suleiman Barau

An accomplished Economist, Commercial, Merchant and Central Banker, Suleiman is a graduate of the School of Basic Studies (1978) and Department of Economics, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria Nigeria (1981). Suleiman also received further education at the University of Jos Nigeria 1987 and University of Bradford England 1986 and 2009. Suleiman was, between 2007-2017, a two term Deputy Governor of the CBN before he retired in December 2017. Prior to that he was for over two years Special Adviser to the Governor of the CBN (2005-2007) during which he acted as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting (NSPM) Plc in 2007. Suleiman had also served on the NSPM Plc board for 10years from 2005 to 2015 and participated actively in its turnaround. Prior to joining CBN. Suleiman spent over 17 years working as a Merchant/Commercial Banker cutting across 4 major banks and prior to this worked with the Nigerian Mining Corporation where he resigned as a Principal Economist in 1988. Suleiman had been involved in far reaching reforms of the banking sector, payment system, monetary policy and internal capacity reforms of the CBN from 2005 to 2017. He was for over 11 years the Coordinator of the Financial System Strategy (FSS) 2020. He was a member of the CBN Board, Monetary Policy Committee and Financial Stability Committee from 2007 to 2017. He was also the Chairman of NIBSS. Suleiman had organized and participated in several local and international workshops and conferences, some as a keynote speaker. In January 2019, Suleiman was appointed by the President as a member of the Presidential Technical Advisory Committee (PTAD) on the Implementation of Minimum Wage. Suleiman had also received Executive Education from literally all the major global schools including Harvard Business and Kennedy (Alumnus), Stanford, Insead, IMD (Alumnus), Kellogg, Wharton Business Schools etc. He is currently the Chairman of the Government’s Family Homes Funds Nigeria Limited, Chairman Redstar Express Nigeria, a licensee of FedEx, among others.

Suleis also a registered member of Nigeria's Chartered Institute of Bankers. His work experience includes AMINU IBRAHIM & CO, Auditor, UNILEVER International, Auditor, UAC of Nigeria Plc, Auditor. He was branch manager for UBA Plc, before he was appointed as the Managing Director of Red Star Express Plc and later became a Non-Executive Director of Red Star Express Plc. He later became a Council member of The Institute of Directors Nigeria (IOD) and Managing Director of Madinka Ventures Ltd.

Alhaji Sabiu Mohammed ACIB, FNIM

Sabiu Mohammed is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM), an associate of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (ACIB) and Senior Member of the Chattered Insurance Institute of Nigeria. He also holds a diploma in Insurance from AhmaduBello University, Zaria. Sabiuhas worked in the insurance space for over 2 decades. He was a director at Finsurance Company Ltd (formerly Yankari Insurance Ltd) between 1992 and 1996, while he was a Director at Yankari Savings & Loans Limited between 1996 and 1999 and Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc (Formerly Unity Kapital Assurance Plc) between 1997 and 2005. He holds HND in Accounting, an MBA and he is an alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School (LBS) Senior Management Programmeand the Harvard Business School (Senior Management Programme). He was the pioneer staff and MD of Capital Express Securities Limited and the Group Managing Director/CEO of APEL Group. Peter’s over two decade working experience spanned across Stockbroking, Advisory, Corporate Finance, deal structuring, Asset Management, Investment & Funds Management. Peter has attended several trainings both local and international and has handled several Local and International transactions as well as several government mandates.

He is a seasonal specialist in the civil structural engineering sector with over 15 years of experience. He specializes in Telecoms, Transmission line, Digital Uni-pole and Other Steel Structures. He has worked on several projects including ‘Aerodynamic analysis of cable stayed bridge’ in SERC, Chennai, India. He has worked in various companies across various countries, including Nigeria, India and Saudi Arabia. He started his career with Ram boll India PvtLtd as a Design Engineer in Telecom & Power steel structures in 2006. He Move to the position of Technical Head in ZamilSteel industries, Saudi Arabia, Managing complete steel structural Engineering. Fabrication, Construction and supply. In 2017 he relocated from Saudi to Nigeria as a engineering Head to handling Telecom projects for major Telco Companies.
